Huntington High School Hosts Inaugural “Guts and Glory” Mountain Challenge March 11

Athletic Challenge for Entire Family Planned for March 11 at Huntington High School
Posted on 02/24/2017

Who:  The Huntington YMCA’s Kids in Motion program, River Valley Child Development Services and Huntington High School

What:  The inaugural Guts and Glory Mountain Challenge (GGMC) is a three-stage mountain challenge consisting of a three-mile trail run, two ROTC obstacle challenges, and finishing with a one-mile sprint.  Racers and participants will have the option of registering for the King of the Hill event in addition to the GGMC or as its own event.  The King of the Hill race consists of a three mile run down and up Huntington High School’s driveway.

Where:  Huntington High School

When:  Saturday March 11, 2017 - 3:00 PM GGMC; 5:00 PM King of the Hill

Why:  This is a combined fundraiser for the Kids in Motion and River Valley Child Development Services.  In year’s past, the YMCA Kids in Motion program held an annual 5k race.  This year, two separate organizations serving the same demographic are joining forces to host a truly one-of-a-kind race for this area.
