Posted on 04/19/2018

Students from Huntington High School recently found success at two Latin academic competitions.

The first competition, the Maier Latin Cup Award, is scored from the SAT Latin Subject Test.  Two of the students won state awards.  Peter Burbery won first place and Caleb Patrick won second place.

As part of the second competition, the Maier Sight Translation, students are timed and given an unknown passage to translate.  Caleb Patrick won third place in Latin II, and Jeffrey Richbart won third place in Latin IV.

The students will be recognized at the Maier Foundation Awards ceremony Tuesday, April 24, 2018 beginning at 3:30 PM at the Brad D. Smith Foundation Hall, which is located on Marshall University Huntington Campus.
